M1 Movement and Therapy

Why Cryotherapy?

Back to Blog Posts

M1 Movement & Therapy is pleased to add Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) services to our main location!

What is WBC? You enter into an octagon-shaped chamber that dispenses liquid nitrogen gas. Treatment sessions last 1-3 minutes with cabin temperatures ranging from -166 to -202 degrees fahrenheit. With three different temperature settings, treatments can be tailored to each person's preference. This method of therapy began in the 1970s in Japan and has made its way to the United States quickly thereafter. WBC can be used by anyone to speed up recovery and produce a general feeling of well-being.

Benefits for WBC are numerous. Dave Asprey's team from Bulletproofexec.com summarizes the potential benefits of WBC and the research behind it:

  • Decrease pain and inflammation
  • Muscle recovery
  • Collagen production (good for cartilage, joints, skin, and hair)
  • Fat burning
  • Effects on mood and sleep

PhysioCoach Dr. Danny Matta, from Athletes' Potential, states that although more studies need to be done on WBC, the results of current studies have shown positive effects on the human body. With any new technology, research is typically years behind what innovative practitioners and coaches are doing. At M1 Movement & Therapy we want to be able to provide the best experience for our clients and help them perform at their best while training, during competitions, workouts, at work, or their everyday routine.

In our short time using WBC, we've received a very positive response from our clients. If you're interested in trying out WBC, give us a call or send us a note. We'd be happy to chat about what cryotherapy can do for you.
